Kitchen Renovation in Long Melford with Reconfigured Layout and Underfloor Heating

This full renovation project in Long Melford was more than just a kitchen upgrade. Working closely with the homeowner, we reconfigured the layout of the ground floor to improve flow and functionality. The kitchen was moved into the former dining room, while the old kitchen space was converted into a new, more practical dining area.

This meant removing an internal wall and making significant structural alterations. We also relocated existing drains to accommodate the new layout, ensuring the plumbing and waste systems aligned with the updated kitchen position.

The new kitchen features dark grey cabinetry, paired with yellow-painted walls for a bold and characterful contrast. A central island was introduced to provide extra workspace, while also acting as a visual anchor that ties the open-plan room together. The result is a space that is as practical as it is striking.

To enhance comfort, we installed a Warmup underfloor heating system, paired with Karndean LVT flooring for a hardwearing yet soft-touch finish. The flooring runs throughout the space, helping to unify the different zones within the open-plan layout.

Work surfaces were finished with Minerva solid surface worktops, known for their seamless look and stain resistance. A Franke undermount sink was chosen for its sleek profile and practical design. From there, we integrated a full suite of Bosch appliances, completing the kitchen with reliable and energy-efficient hardware.
